Life in Ancient Greece

I would have liked to live in Ancient Greece because men had power but boys under the age of eighteen had no say and had to wait till they became of age. So,during that period of time,I could understand how the women and slaves felt.I also like their ability to build great structures. Those may be the good points about living in Greece. The possible bad points is that we had to do everything. We also had to remember all the Greek letters.Besides that,I also sympathise with the women.Their bursting to do what men can do but are like caged animals. They may be able to what men can do just as well and maybe even better.(Kind of like my mum)

Criss Cross

A girl called Debbie wished that something good would happen to her, soon.Meanwhile,in another part of town,a boy felt as if the world was changing.Life itself was rearranging itself;bulging in places, fraying in spots. He felt himself changing, too, but into what? I found it funny at places, boring at others.Oh,I forgot to tell you it is a story of how two lives are linked together while they are apart and do not even Know each other until a while later.I must say I enjoyed it very much though it was simple.

Sharp Beats

Kind of a coincidence,eh? Mickey has only ONE successful case under his belt,so do not believe that sentence.Well now he has another case.Surprise, surprise!A band calls him to help them find their missing singer. But what Mickey does not know is that singer, bring her to the band and avoid going to jail because Katie is trying to get revenge by trying to send him to jail.I find it hilarious because Mickey goes around trying to find Desiree and gain access to her and gets into loads of trouble. When he finally manages to get hold of her,he brings her to the band and sets out to even things out with Katie.I mean beat her at her own game.

Sharp Stuff

Mickey Sharp is Private Investigator for teenagers. His first case involves a boy that is being bullied.Well...his sister reckons so and approaches Mickey for assistance. Can Mickey find out, stop it and avoid spending hours in detention?I find this book very funny but to Mickey, this may not be the case. The so-called morons at the back of his class often give him grief and make life difficult for him.So neither do I reckon Mickey finds it funny when the news that Mickey repeated a written plea (Katie wrote it.) to get Katie Pierce to go out with him got around to the morons. You will get a real laugh when you read this book and the next,Sharp Beats.

Yellow Flag

This book is full of racing action. It gets your excitement levels up,just like the gas level in a stock car as it races around the track, dodging ramming cars and moving forward. This revolves around a trumpet player, who sits in for his brother during his stay in hospital and gets addicted.I find it action-packed and is full of decisions to be made. There was one part where Kyle, the trumpet player, manages to avoid being rammed into the wall and moves up to fourth postion. The driver then comes to bash Kyle up because just after he manages to get a supplier,he wrecks his car.Kyle's Uncle Kale steps in front of Kyle and lifts the driver off the ground and I found it most interesting at that part and was howling like a hyena. It is a must read!

Anne of Green Gables

This story is about a family wanting to adopt an orphan boy to help out on their farm but receives an orphan girl instead. Her name Anne Shirley. She likes to talk non-stop and the Cuthberts are exasperated and entertained by her constant chatter along with her romantic imagination. With all these, they do not know what to make of her. But they soon find it difficult to remember what Green Gables was like without her. I found it her quite funny and wild with all the imaginations until the part where Matthew Cuthbert gets a shock and passes away. Poor Anne and her mother! I really sympathise with them.

The White Castle

This is the third book in the series. The Castle Five, from the Castle Six, go to save their friend, Sarah, and the country. The evil villain, Basker, manages to lure the Castle Five and his son, Justin, into the castle and plans to kill them by blowing up the castle. Justin tries to persuade his father not to blow up the castle but to no avail. Jonathan, Eleanor's father, found a way out of the castle and ensured everybody got out of the castle safely. Eleanor nearly did make it but she lifted her head up and got across. She loses two close friends, Justin and Sarah. Justin goes away to another country, but I do not about Sarah. My favourite part is where Eleanor sees fake heads and thinks they are real and screams. Justin comes in and tells her that they are fake. I was laughing non-stop when I read that. You really should read it!

The Pig Who Saved the World

'The Pig Who Saved the World' is hilarious and has many twists and turns in the plot. When you expect something to happen, nearly always the opposite does. Gryllus, a male hero turned into a pig, escapes the snapping jaws of death every time by a mere inch or so. It makes you really nervous when you think he is going to die but then something happens and he survives. In the end, he saves the world again because this is the second book. My favourite part is where they put all their strength together to push a giant boulder to stop the god of Death. I really like this book and feel that you all should find this book and read it!
